I messed things up, guys. I was using my new PC with a Ryzen 5 2600 on a B450M D-s3h from Gigabyte for some time. It had one stick of G.Skill AEGIS 8GB 3200MHz RAM in XMP profile and ran smoothly until. Today I bought another identical stick and installed it. Immediately I started getting BSODs and crashes during games. I tried reinstalling everything and think... I damaged the DDR4_1 slot. Then I placed it in DDR4_3 and DDR4_4 following the motherboard manual, set the voltage to 1.40V while running at 3200MHz, but the PC became even more unstable. Please help me out. Tell me everything.

I believe the slot may have been damaged due to a tear or loose component on the motherboard. Have you attempted to reset the CMOS settings?

I suspect a physical damage occurred. I plan to check functionality tomorrow. If not, will I be okay using DDR4_3 and DDR4_4?

I’ve outlined my approach. I’ll test the setup at 2133MHz without any XMP changes and see if it works smoothly. Then I’ll attempt to move to 3000MHz, keeping in mind the card specs are around 3200MHz. I’m also checking whether the available slots will fit my needs.

XMP allows switching to multiple speeds. The connectors you're using are less reliable, but for your memory goal this should not be a major issue. Simply put, the best setup is connecting all traces from the dimming unit to the CPU. If your RAM is placed as far away from the CPU as possible, that's ideal. However, if there are empty dimming slots next to the RAM, it becomes tougher to overclock.
