Issues with Windows 11 rebuilding BCD have occurred since yesterday.
HiAll
My Windows 11 desktop faced several issues last night. It began with Error Code: 0xc0000225, indicating a missing required device. After a hard reboot, the system locked down but I could access the desktop screen, though the mouse and keyboard stopped responding. I replaced my wireless mouse/keyboard, tried another set, and even switched to a wired one. Then I encountered Error Code: 0xc0000001, which prevented the PC from shutting off properly.
I reset the CMOS and adjusted the system time. My hardware specs are i5-10600K, MSI MPG Z490, 32 GB RAM (two sticks), and a Samsung SSD 970 EVO 500 GB. Fast boot is turned off.
According to my search, I followed these steps:
X:\sources>bootrec /fixmbr
The fix completed without issues.
X:\sources>bootrec /fixboot
Access was denied.
X:\sources\bootsect /nt60sys
The system will update target volumes with a boot code compatible with BOOTMGR. The bootcode was successfully updated on all relevant drives.
X:\sources>bootrec /rebuildbcb
All Windows installations were identified correctly.
I used Diskpart to manage the drive:
Volume 3 (FAT32 partition) was hidden and marked as healthy.
Diskpart assigned it the letter N, and the process finished without errors.
The system rebooted, and I was able to log in again after removing the USB drive. However, I still experience issues with the desktop hanging after entering the password or using the mouse and keyboard.
I’m seeking further guidance on resolving these persistent problems.
when you power it up again, quickly press SHIFT plus F8, then click on “See advanced repair options”, next select “Troubleshoot”, then “Advanced Options”, and finally choose “Windows Startup Settings”. There you will see a button “Restart”. Click it and let the wizard finish all the steps.
