I located a Steam option that permits background processing for Vulcan shaders. After trying it out, I've played Dota 2 for three years across seven different machines. My current setup is running at 16 FPS even on the lowest settings. However, when I enabled the setting, my ping jumped from 6 to 180 with significant packet loss. Is this really feasible with this adjustment? I've tested it multiple times but haven't seen any improvement.

It seems this setting is intended to stream or render images directly to your gaming display while you play, requiring full access to your game’s data and internet speed at once. Have you considered enabling only pre-caching? Yes, a poor or limited connection would lead to dropped packets, which differs from just a ping issue.

They've tested it and it functions flawlessly just with pre-caching enabled.
