Hello everyone. I've been assembling a PC, as my old 6-year-old laptop is failing over the past months. I haven't gathered all the components yet, but I'm testing what I have. The parts I currently have include a Ryzen 5800X3D, NZXT N7 B550, Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600mt/s, Sabrent Rocket 4 with a 2TB M.2 SSD, Deepcool AK620, and Thermaltake Toughpower. Everything is assembled in a case and connected properly. I powered it on to verify functionality—both the VGA indicator (likely due to missing graphics card) and the boot status are showing red lights. This raises my concern about the SSD; without a way to view its status on screen, I can't confirm if it's faulty. I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out.
Boot indicates no operating system found (presumably you haven't set up Windows yet), and VGA suggests the 5800x3d lacks an IGPU, meaning you'll need a separate dedicated GPU. After installing the GPU and OS, everything should work. Welcome to the forums!
Please accept my apologies for seeming overly cautious. Thank you for your prompt response! Still, can I find a way to connect my laptop as a video output so I can view the BIOS? My graphics card is expected between the 17th and 19th of April, and I don’t have a separate monitor set up until I receive payment at the end of the month.
