Right now at a friend's place, the laptop isn't working and I'm trying to fix it. The USB drivers I downloaded didn't install properly, so nothing loads. But the command prompt says they were saved successfully. I'm really stuck and need some assistance.

Is this your friend’s computer? It seems the drivers are not in the usual driver folder but rather inside where the drivers live. Likely related to something named “intel 1225..”, probably a network card. Most machines have an Ethernet or Wi-Fi chip, and Intel is known for strong networking solutions. A Strix board would likely include an Intel network chip. Every motherboard component generally requires a driver to communicate with the CPU. Strix usually aims for top performance. The B550 is an AMD AM4 model, so keeping the BIOS updated might be key. Which driver are you attempting to upgrade?

We are attempting to refresh the LAN drivers to enable Ethernet connectivity, as we are experiencing complete connection issues.

It could be many things. Have you reached out to the ISP to check their ping speed? They’ll likely just see a response from their access point and assume the issue is yours. That’s probably the case. At that stage, starting from your end might be the fastest approach. There’s also the possibility the ISP is experiencing difficulties. For instance, in my area squirrels are a problem—they can damage cables. Sometimes the wires are high-voltage and can cause issues if squirrels chew through them, leading to potential hazards. If your connection isn’t reaching you, it might be due to wildlife interference.

It's not a problem with the internet. The concern is how the computer recognizes the connection.

Have you explored using the drivers directly from Intel instead of going through Asus?
