Issues with the AM5 system
Hey! I'm facing a really strange issue with my new PC setup. (Main issues) CPU: Ryzen 9 7900X Motherboard: AsRock B650 PG Riptide RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5 32GB 5600MHz When I turn it on, the DRAM and CPU lights stay red for a while (sometimes the Boot and VGA LEDs flash), then it boots into BIOS but all the lights go off. Occasionally I can't even reach BIOS and just see a black screen until I restart. Windows won't install properly—it says files are corrupted or it doesn't boot at all. I can't update BIOS; when I try the instant flashback, the LED stays green meaning something's wrong, but when I do an instant flash, it updates and restarts back to BIOS. What have I tried so far? Reseating CPU, reseating RAM (in different slots or at a time), resetting BIOS to defaults. I've had similar problems with an AM4 system before, but this one is really frustrating. Any advice would be great!
If all else fails and it won’t boot, there’s nothing more you can do
It seems the item hasn't performed well, so it's not your responsibility if it's out of date—just get a replacement. I suggest the B650 Aourus model.
This situation reminds me of the streamer's computer Linus recently fixed. It makes me think your graphics card might be faulty with a short or other issue. Starting with an RMA for the GPU and/or CPU could be a good first step. It doesn’t seem like you’re missing anything, since you’ve already re-seated everything and it’s still behaving strangely.
