I'm facing issues with the fingerprint sensor on my laptop. The system seems to ignore it, and after updating drivers and using Dell's troubleshooter, nothing changed. Eventually, I contacted their support, who advised me to follow the steps they already suggested. When all else failed, they directed me to local service, which was unhelpful. They kept asking me to change unrelated BIOS settings and even suggested I install the sensor myself, despite my warranty covering hardware problems. After checking local stores, I found none that sold the device without it. Eventually, they told me to replace the keyboard at their center, even though my warranty should cover that. I'm unsure what to do next.

Is the laptop covered under the warranty? If yes, this is completely misleading.

If the product is still covered by the warranty, I’d keep reaching out, as consistently contacting these companies can often secure the repairs you deserve. It’s frustrating for them, but you’re entitled to have it fixed.

I share the same view as @manikyath, that's nonsense. Are you located in the US? If so, did you utilize this link: https://www.dell.com/support/incidents-o...s/srsearch
