Issues with streaming content
Hey there,
I’ve been streaming before with OBS, but that was a while back now. I’m running into some issues lately. My setup is solid – I can hit over 200 FPS in CS:GO. My CPU is an i7 920 at 2.67GHz and my GPU is a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti SSC. My internet test is live here: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5015343612. Right now it’s testing up to 2500 Mbps with x264 encoding at base resolution 1600x900, downscaled to 1.5 with bilinear filtering. FPS is around 35. I’ve tried switching Twitch servers – New York vs Chicago – but even then lag shows up. On my iPad, the stream buffers a lot and there’s noticeable lag.
Thanks for your help! I’m working hard to boost my stream and YouTube channel. Hopefully, I can go full-time soon.
You should consider replacing your CPU since streaming demands significant processing power.
Nvidia NVENC is a GPU-accelerated encoder designed for Kepler-based GPUs and later versions. My brother has successfully used this encoder before.
Your internet performance fluctuates noticeably. The speed appears inconsistent, especially when streaming at high bitrates, which might cause buffering on other devices. It seems your CPU could be struggling to handle encoding and playback simultaneously. Edit: Sorry, I didn’t capture your results above—your connection power is sufficient, but your processor may need more strength.
