Issues with stable RAM OC on the x570 Aorus Master / Ripjaw V 3200.
I studied Anthony's overclocking instructions, checked HardwareUnboxed’s tips, and watched some YouTube videos. Still, I’m struggling to get any stable overclock on my RAM. Even the smallest boosts aren’t holding up in games, and higher speeds seem to cause crashes or reset issues. I’m using: R7-3800X X570 AORUS Master G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB (4x8) at 3200MHz with XMP settings. My goal is either push it to 3600MHz without timing problems or lower the timings. I’ve followed Anthony’s advice, but the changes don’t always stick. My RAM appears to be Samsung B-die and is decent, but the Master chipset is top-tier. I think it should handle one or the other, but I’m not sure if I missed a crucial setting that Anthony or HardwareUnboxed overlooked. Could it be that I’ve lost too much flexibility in the process? Or is there a tiny adjustment I need to make?
It might be due to having four RAM sticks installed. The motherboards struggle to overclock with four sticks at once. Try removing two and see if you get better results. If so, that explains why.
Interestingly, during stable synthetic tests I managed to launch a visually demanding game but it kept crashing. I had to push the overclock to XMP settings just to get it running. It still surprises me how much I can't extract performance from this system given its stability, the AORUS Master specs, and the decent RAM.
