At first, the internet connection was slow at about 10mbps. Once I reconnected, it improved to around 300mbps, which seems correct. But after a few hours, the speed drops again until I reconnect, which is quite frustrating. I'm using the Asus PCE-AC88. I've already tried USB wireless adapters, but they didn't help much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This issue has been ongoing since I bought the device a couple of months ago. Thanks.

Check the router first before assuming the issue is elsewhere.

What frequency band are you using—2.4 GHz or 5 GHz? How close is your PC to the WiFi router, and what barriers might be affecting the signal? When was the most recent update for your network card? Are you referring to internet speed or the actual connection speed reported by Windows? Perhaps consider: restarting the router and/or PC, updating card drivers, switching to the 5 GHz band, adjusting antenna placement for stronger reception, clearing other wireless devices, verifying firmware updates, ensuring QoS is enabled, connecting just your PC, or moving the PC to a different room with the hotspot. Honestly, there are many factors to consider, but being more precise helps provide better guidance. Troubleshooting from a limited perspective can be very challenging.

The problem appears only on my computer. The iPad, game consoles, and laptops function correctly; the two other PCs are unaffected.
