A few days back I shared an update about my Skyrim textures being problematic. I removed my Skyrim files from the Steam Apps folder and reinstalled it, which improved things. Now each texture looks correct and the particles are consistent. Could you help with this? Thank you!

What hue appears? A missing texture produces this strange purple tint on surfaces. I've also noticed textures turning black when the graphics card lacks sufficient VRAM, along with performance issues tied to low VRAM.

Additionally, your overclocked GTX 970 should handle VRAM requirements well.

I also looked into checking file integrity on Steam, but it reported a missing file and said it would be reacquired. It hasn’t completed that yet. Got any suggestions on what to try? Appreciate your patience.

You can allow Steam to attempt repairs. If the issue continues, you might need to remove the BSA's and ESM's in the specified directory. It seems the problem could be with the BSA files or possibly the ESM files from the original version. The "special edition" contains more BSA files with different naming conventions. BSAs act like compressed game files, while ESMs function like a file system for those BSA files. There might be an error with either. If you can pinpoint the missing texture by area, community members on Nexus or AFKMods could help identify the exact file set affected (e.g., fxsmokenecroanim.dds, fxsmokepuffanim04.dds). You could also try installing a mod that handles these particles and restore the missing files in the "Data\effects" folder. It's safer to do this via a mod organizer. Recent searches found compatible mods for both Special Edition and OldRim.
