Hi. I know this is a common issue that people have but I don't know how to fix it. I'm not able to record my games in Shadowplay, when I press the record button the status indicator has a red line over it. I tried re-opening an re-installing Shadowplay with no luck. I also have tried recording in different games such as CS:GO and Battlefield 3. Thanks

The issue was resolved by obtaining the Windows Media pack since my 8.1 N version didn't include it. @Go_On_Shadow
