Hello, thank you for reaching out. I understand this might not be the right spot, especially since I'm just starting here. My understanding of Windows and hardware is quite basic. My PC is mostly prebuilt with M.2 drives already installed, and it uses the Asus TUF Gaming X570 PLUS WiFi motherboard. The M.2_1 slot near the CPU holds a 1TB Intel drive and "disk 0" in Disk Management, which is my D: drive. My C: drive (a 1TB MSI drive) is in the M.2_2 slot under the heat sink, labeled "disk 1."
I’m wondering if placing my C: drive in the D: slot would affect performance, or if it’s just a matter of storage location. I also see my D: drive has about 40 GB of Windows and Program Files, even though I’ve been installing apps on C:. I think these files might be duplicates of what’s on C:, but I’m not sure how to confirm. I’ve looked into Disk Management and TreeSize, showing the biggest storage impact on D:. I’ll share some screenshots for clarity.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
