Issues with Samsung 980 Pro devices
Hello. The MSI B550M mortar board is equipped with the latest 5700G Ryzen 7 and an NVMe Samsung 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 slot. However, the SSD speed is limited to PCIe 3.0 at 3500MB/s, even though the system supports PCIe 4.0 with speeds up to 5000-7000MB/s. This issue prevents it from reaching the full potential. It might be due to missing official drivers from Samsung, or possibly because the CPU is using a 3.0 PCIe Express interface. Let me know if you try Windows NVMe drivers.
pcie 3 supports up to 5700g, which is essentially similar to a 5800u on a desktop. Mobile components have their pcie design for better battery performance and possibly lower motherboard costs.
