Issues with RAM or system instability and crashes are common problems users face.
Hello everyone, I’m reaching out again for your assistance. I recently upgraded to a 4070s and a 7800x3d. I bought a 7800x3d for my brother but gave him the one I had in my PC—same CPU. I switched to the new one myself. The PC is now unstable; it crashes during games, shows blue screens, and even restarts randomly. The BIOS and drivers are up to date, and I’m using the same RAM as before. I ran Memtest on stock settings and everything passed for three hours with no errors. Once I switched to DOCP at 6000MHz, it took ten minutes and still had 17 errors. Now I’m unsure if my RAM failed or if the CPU is dead. I’m not very skilled at these complex troubleshooting steps, so I really need help. I’ve already ordered new RAM, so I can test it at 6000MHz to see if it’s the issue. Thank you for your time!
You'll need to manage your memory sticks carefully by cycling through them in the best slots (A2 or B2). Check for consistent errors or stuck slots to identify problems. If one slot keeps failing or all slots do, the CPU might be the issue; if only one stick is affected, it's likely a specific stick. Also, note that the kit you ordered may not work well with AMD systems—consider canceling the current order and choosing an alternative.
