Hello everyone! As mentioned in the title, I'm facing freezes or hangs in Rainbow 6 Siege. Here are my details:
- GPU: GTX GeForce 1050ti 4gb
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x
- RAM: 16gb 3200mhz Corsair Vengeance
- MOBO: Aorus X470 Ultra Gaming
My problem in more detail:
I'm encountering brief freezes that last about 2-3 seconds every 15 seconds. These interruptions are paired with lag spikes in the game and its connection indicators, suggesting a possible disruption in my connection to the host server. The freezes also impact any third-party VoiP I'm using—audio cuts out, both incoming and outgoing—and cause my key inputs to freeze based on what was pressed during the lag, making it hard to trace the issue. These occurrences happen whether I'm playing online or on LAN.
Excluding these freezes, my game runs smoothly otherwise, with CPU usage around 65-70% at normal temperatures. This issue is similar to what I had before upgrading to DDR4 memory, but when checking Task Manager during gameplay, my RAM usage drops to about 50%. There have been no recent game updates or system changes prior to this problem, and it seems unique to Siege.
My two guesses are: random high disk usage (unlikely) or bandwidth limitations. Any suggestions?
