Issues with QuestionWin 11 & 23H2 BitLocker
Hi
I’m facing a confusing situation with the OS where it keeps showing contradictory information about BitLocker being enabled or disabled. The version of Windows I’m using has an OS build number of 22631.4169, yet when I check drives in Windows Explorer, none of them display BitLocker as active. When I try to enable it, a dialog appears asking me to turn it off. Does anyone else experience this issue with BitLocker? This isn’t happening on my machine but on another desktop.
Ensure TPM is activated within the UEFI (BIOS) settings. Additionally, the icon might not display if there are issues with the drive.
Thanks, I'll implement that fix when I can reach those machines.
TPM is activated according to the default BIOS configuration. Running chkdsk from a command prompt as an administrator doesn't generate file errors.
Another confusing aspect is that two other machines in this group have the same Windows 11 versions and lack BitLocker activation, even though Microsoft's July update made BitLocker enabled by default via a patch. This has led to issues worldwide. None of these systems are older than a year. There seems to be some unusual behavior from Microsoft regarding requiring BitLocker on every Win 10 and 11 machine without user consent.
This situation stems from the recent CrowdStrike incident.
