Hello, I purchased a refurbished HP ProBook X360 435 G8 for university use and now occasionally play light games in my spare time, especially older titles such as Witcher 2 and Fallout 3. I've noticed my frame rates are significantly lower than expected, according to various reports. For instance, Witcher 2 was running at around 40 fps at the lowest settings, whereas benchmarks suggest it should hit 50 fps at 1080p low/medium. Similarly, Fallout 3 would struggle to maintain 60 fps at high resolution. I've adjusted the power settings to performance mode and turned it on the wall, but the improvement hasn't been substantial. Also, the laptop doesn’t seem to be throttling its temperature. Could you have any advice?
Specs: Ryzen 7 5850u, 16GB RAM (single stick)
Edit: It might be a BIOS power limit restriction—since it's a business-focused machine, there appears to be a password-protected BIOS setting I need to resolve. I'm attempting to contact HP for assistance.
