I built a PC in 2020 for a specific purpose, but it hasn't been used much lately since my son took over it. For his birthday, he got a brand new machine, and now I'm getting back to using my own. I noticed some issues recently because I had to assist him with repairs. The performance feels slower than before, and the system gets very hot and often crashes. In my opinion, the main problem is likely the heat—possibly damaging other parts too. I’m looking for advice on how to identify the issue without replacing the whole setup.

Use a tool like HWinfo64 to check temperatures. It might require rewiring, but the fan isn't functioning properly. A replacement is possible, though other heat problems could exist. Share your readings after testing so we can help together.
