Issues with new processor
I recently tried upgrading my CPU to a newer version. Right now I have an ASUS TUF X470 Plus with a Ryzen 7 1700 processor, NVIDIA 2080 GPU, and 24 GB RAM. My system is running smoothly without any problems. But when I switch to the Ryzen 7 2700, my audio and monitors suddenly stop working without any warning or error message. The only solution seems to be manually restarting the PC. My BIOS is updated with the latest firmware for the motherboard, and all drivers are current. If anyone knows why this keeps happening, I would really appreciate it.
This board doesn't meet the expectations for that chip. Check out the tier list there: She won't handle the power captain well—she's going to fail!
I'm confirming what you already understand—the 2700X consumes a lot of power. It handles the load well on my 6 IR3553 monitor, even with high current draw. A 95 amp rating is manageable. Recently, I adjusted memory settings for the B450-I, running at 3000mhz and CL 15-17-17, then tweaked it to 16-16-16. Performance remains solid so far. Achieved an average of 4 FPS with CODBO4 gaming at 4K Max. Lags around 36 fps now but staying above 40. I plan to boost it to 3000 and higher after further testing. Still working on OCCT.
