Recently i've faced mouse problems where it skips frames or lags, likely due to 2.4ghz interference between my router and the mouse. I can't move my router because of a short ethernet cable, and I tried turning off the 2.4ghz internet connection via the app on my phone, but I couldn't figure out how. From some discussions I've read, different USB ports have varying speeds, so I recently switched to a blue port on my motherboard and placed the mouse receiver closer. The issues improved, and stuttering hasn't returned, though I still want to prevent this in the future. Now I'm unsure which USB port is best to avoid interference between my router and mouse.

Well the blue USB port is likely the quickest option.
I'm guessing you're using a wireless mouse, and you're wondering if the 2.4 GHz signal might be causing issues. You probably shouldn't worry too much about it, but you can disable the 2.4 GHz channel directly through your router settings on your PC.
If you try that, you'll at least have a better idea of what's causing the problem.

What other issues might exist? I suspect something is interfering, even though I've used several similar mice. Could you help me connect to the router from my PC?

USB port version is irrelevant to mouse wireless receiver.
Use wired mouse. It will solve all your wireless interference issues.
Another bonus - you won't have to worry about mouse battery running out during gaming sessions.

I just don't want to rely on wired connections, which is a big disadvantage compared to wireless. How can I ignore that? I saw this discussion here: https://forums.

Well - that's your decision.
I've tried many wireless mice. The only notable benefit is the "coolness" aspect. However, the downsides are quite severe and bothersome.

I have plenty of desk space, so using wireless makes sense. Also, playing at a low volume during every game is much simpler with wireless. This is just in addition to what I originally asked.

Which particular brand and model of mouse are being referenced in this context?
It appears this is likely a typical concern due to the frequent reliance on 2.4GHz wireless connections.

I experienced a comparable problem in my home office, especially when using many wireless mice and keyboards. I ended up using a long USB cable with the receiver placed about 12 inches away from both the mouse and keyboard. Additionally, I had a multi-device mouse and keyboard that interfered with other wireless devices. After troubleshooting channel/band activity and similar issues, I switched back to wired connections for everything possible. I also relocated my ISP modem and router closer to the door and away from any direct line between this PC and the wireless equipment. Good luck, as this can be quite frustrating.

Determine the IP address for your router by checking the label on the back, which typically includes a password.
