Hi!
I was wondering what might be causing the monitors to turn off while playing games or when multitasking.
When does this happen?
- When I play a game or have a YouTube video open on another screen
What’s the issue?
- 1. The monitors display a black screen and sometimes show no signal at all.
- 2. The fans run at full speed, probably because it’s very loud.
- 3. The sound from the video continues even when the monitors are off.
- 4. The PC restarts after some time.
What I’ve tried:
- Used DDU to reinstall drivers, but it didn’t help.
- Tried refreshing the GPU driver with Win Key+Shift+Ctrl+B, but nothing changed.
My PC specifications:
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B650-A GAMING WIFI
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
RAM: 2x G.SKILL 32GB KIT DDR5 6000MHz CL36 Trident Z5 RGB Black
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GAMING X TRIO 12G
SSD 1: Samsung 980 PRO 2TB
SSD 2: Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 1TB
SSD 3: WD Blue SN580 1TB
HDD 1: WD Blue 1TB
HDD 2: Seagate BarraCuda 1TB
PSU: Corsair RM1000x
I think all components are covered under warranty, so I could send them for replacement if needed. Please let me know if you have any advice.

have you monitored the temperatures? if yes, what are the average low and highest values you've recorded?

I'm checking with HWiNFO64 to determine the log before it crashes.
However, I've observed:
CPU: Maximum 87°C
GPU: Maximum 60°C
Other components were around 40°C.
I'll send the temperatures again after it crashes.

it might simply be that the CPU is becoming overloaded, and temperature limits will eventually cause the system to shut down.
we'll find out what the crash temperatures indicate.

I captured the incident. I didn’t see any high temperatures prior to it, but I’m unsure how to interpret the file properly.
I shared it on Google Drive here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/19eMM_F5...drive_link

I'll examine the logs later when I'm near my PC, but generally what you're experiencing is likely a power-related problem. It might be helpful to reconnect all the power cables connected to the graphics card.

I turned the computer back on and everything seems to be working properly without any issues. However, I'm still concerned because I don't know what caused the problem or if it will return.

The reason I always go here is because of the random black screen and 100% fans when I plugged in a faulty 6+2 PCIe power cable, which made it loose enough to lose contact. If everything is working now, I'd say it's probably due to the power cable not being installed correctly.
