I restarted The Witcher 2 enhanced edition again, but my GPU usage keeps dropping, leading to stuttering. I’m curious if anyone knows why an FX8350 with 16GB RAM is being used. I’ve also tried adjusting settings in the Nvidia control panel without success.

Verify your power configuration -> High Performance mode. What other parameters are active? My single GTX 980 runs at 2560x1440p with ultra settings disabled.

It seems to work better once you've listened to it several times. Just closing and reopening it removes it.

Check the details and let me know if it still feels slow. If it stops, adjust the heat and figure out what’s causing the issue. I’m currently running at 4K with full settings, using two 970s at butter smooth 60 FPS.

I noticed your GPU usage drops significantly in the game. Could you share your Afterburner screenshot?

When GPU usage decreases, your GPU might revert to lower performance mode, leading to stuttering. You can verify this in the Afterburner of GPU-Z. If confirmed, it suggests an Nvidia driver issue. Consider enabling ubersampling to boost load and test whether it stops the downclocking. Ubersampling at full 1080p settings functions well on my R9 290, indicating your GPU is capable.

With a 970 you could run at full settings without Ubersampling at 60fps locked. Your CPU usage seems to reach 100% often? Maybe try installing drivers from February—they helped me!
