Recently I acquired an MSI H61M-P31/W8 and it has been functioning properly. I decided to update the BIOS, but it didn’t work as expected. While experimenting, I saved the current BIOS version to a USB drive after the update and flashed it onto the motherboard. Now it powers on for two seconds and then turns off, repeating the cycle. I’m unsure how to either erase the existing BIOS or install a new one. I’ve tried various methods but don’t know what to do next. I hope the motherboard isn’t damaged and I don’t have to spend too much time fixing it.

Most probably you destroyed it. You might attempt resetting the CMOS, though since the board lacks a dedicated flash function (which this one doesn’t have), you can’t resolve issues if the flash failed or is corrupted.
