I’m unable to proceed since the system doesn’t share the previous drive. It shows a black screen, but fans and RGB lights function. I can’t access the BIOS because none of the M.2 drives are installed.

The alternative port accommodates both SATA and PCIe connections. Testing it may clarify the issue... Do you have anything in the PCIe slot 4?

Installed the graphics card into the alternate PCIe slot and placed the M.2 drive in its respective slot. The system started up, but the M.2 device wasn't detected in the BIOS. I believe adjusting settings might resolve the issue.

There are six of them. I don't know their location, but I can help you find out where they are now.

The mainboard features only two PCIe 3.0 16x slots. It seems to be the earliest model if you're counting from the bottom. The M.2 slot is located in the second M.2 socket, supporting PCIe Gen3 and SATA3.

Ah yes, only 2 long slots. See the mobo manual, the bottom PCIe slot (PCIE4) conflicts with the top m.2 slot, if a drive is in it the PCIE4 slot gets disabled, hence your black screen. Also the bottom PCIe is only x4 even if the connector is full length, so you want the GPU in the top one (PCIE2). And then you should be able to plug your m.2 in the top slot, which is x4. the bottom m.2 is only x2. That's how it should be.

It appears in the BIOS even when it isn't visible in Windows Explorer. I located it in the Settings, so I believe this issue can be resolved. Thanks for your help—I saved me a lot of trouble by not changing the slots. This is my first build, so...

Ensure you open Disk Manager, set up a partition, format it, and it will appear in Windows.
