Issues with low FPS at 3070 and 5600 not reaching smooth 1080p performance
I'm attempting to play games at 1080p with 240fps. Videos show similar results with the same CPU when running titles like OW2 or Valorant, achieving high FPS. When playing Slime Rancher on default settings, I experienced under 120fps. Trying LoL gave me around 150fps. All configurations were set to their defaults, and I think I was using fullscreen. I'm checking if OW2 or other games perform similarly. Generally, new games aren't very demanding, but later stages with many assets can strain the system. My CPU is a Gen4 model in the silver PCIe slot. I'm not sure what more details are needed, but this should help. I'm currently at work and can't troubleshoot right now, but I'll follow up after I get home.
Confirm your drivers are current and compatible with the GPU and possibly the monitor. Also review the advanced display options in Windows to ensure 240Hz is active. GLHF!
Check if your Windows and device drivers are current, covering BIOS updates. Provide complete details about your computer specifications.
I might be mistaken since I haven't played the game myself, but I'm pretty sure LoL is a CPU-intensive title. The 5600 offers solid mid-range performance, though it likely won't maintain those high frame rates in a CPU-heavy game.
I verified my GPU drivers were current last night and they were. To check your BIOS status, you can look it up online using your motherboard model or visit the manufacturer’s website. Since you have a Bluetooth keyboard now, updating BIOS won’t interfere with that. Your monitor details are also listed in the original post.
Regarding chipset and Windows drivers, you should look for them on the support page for your motherboard on the manufacturer's website instead of the settings tab. The Windows update section often provides only basic or outdated drivers. For BIOS updates, use DxDiag—a built-in app—to check your current version and compare it with the latest available from the manufacturer's site. Please share your full specifications, including power supply, case, CPU model, and storage drive details.

When I arrive home today, I’ll verify my chipset driver (how do you locate that?) and ensure Windows drivers are current via the support page for my motherboard. I’ll also run DxDiag.
Potential hardware concern appears to be the stock CPU cooler if drivers aren't up to date. They seem fine but checking CPU temperatures during gaming could reveal issues. If you haven't updated drivers from the manufacturer's site, chances are they might be incorrect or outdated. BIOS plays a key role for Ryzen systems, with many fixes and compatibility updates available through it. If you're new to this process, I can confirm it's likely outdated—usually by at least two versions. Also verify DOCP/XMP is enabled.
