Issues with linking to the new router
I previously relied on a slow 4mbps connection and struggled with it. I thought switching to a 100mbps plan would help. Once that was done, the service worked well on my mobile and tablet. However, it still isn’t connecting to my computer via LAN. The device says "identifying..." when I plug in the LAN cable. I’m really confused about what to do next. Need some guidance.
Verify if the lights are flashing when you connect the cable to your RJ45 port. No lights indicate no electrical connection and thus no Pewpew internet access. Also inspect the router side—if one is blinking while the other isn't, you're using the wrong cable. -2 Use the command prompt to run: ipconfig /release ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /renew -3 Disable the network card in your hardware manager and restart the system; Windows will reinstall drivers. -4 Check if the LAN cable is connected to a dedicated uplink port on the new router, depending on the model. Try another cable if needed. -5 Turn off all devices and restart everything.
