Issues with lighting flickering in Dragon Engine when using TAA.
Attached is a video demonstrating the problem in Yakuza 7 and Judgment. The flickering is only visible on TAA and the default anti-aliasing configuration, which likely uses TAA as well. It's disappointing since TAA generally performs well in these titles. I've reinstalled the game, updated drivers, adjusted VSync, checked all g-sync settings on my LG ultragear 27gp850-b display, and even tested with another monitor using HDMI and DisplayPort. The GPU is RX 6950 XT, CPU Ryzen 5 5600, motherboard ASUS tuf gaming b550m+, RAM 32GB at 3600Mhz.
I just tried it out. It looks like their TAA setup isn't consistently stable under certain extreme conditions, which might cause noticeable glitches. If you can push the GPU to its maximum frame rate, I think it could work better. I experimented with other AA options, but they didn’t match the performance of TAA. Maybe using oversampling (AMD’s VSR) could help, though it might not be fast enough for a 6950XT. Running above 5k FPS would likely make a difference. It seems like a limitation of the game engine rather than something you can easily fix. I didn’t see any major issues during my first playthrough, so just enjoy the game and ignore those minor details.
