I just set up an account since I felt stuck. I've been using my PC for months and decided to upgrade my CPU to the i9-11900kf. I chose the 11th generation because I didn’t want to buy a new motherboard. To make sure my new CPU worked, I updated the BIOS on my Asus Z490-A board to version 2103. This isn’t the latest update, but the instructions on the Asus site were confusing, so I went with one of the older compatible versions for the i9. After updating the BIOS and installing the new CPU, everything functioned properly for a couple days. Then my PC began displaying issues randomly during games and restarts. All drivers, graphics card, monitor, CPU—everything seems up to date. My specs include a Zotac Gaming 3070ti with an i9-11900kf, four 8GB DDR4 sticks at 3200MHz, a 240mm AIO cooler, and a solid case with nine fans. Temperatures stayed normal even after the new CPU was installed. I ran Windows File Fixer in Command Prompt to clean up corrupt files and confirmed everything was current. I bought the CPU on eBay for $205, verified the seller was trustworthy, checked the pins for damage, and even disassembled/reassembled it after the first install. I tested the PC without extra software at a time, but it kept freezing and restarting. My guess is the power supply might be the issue—its age isn’t clear since it came from a used machine, though it’s gold-rated. Besides, the problems started right after updating BIOS and swapping the CPU. It could also be software-related, so let me know if you want help with that too.

Yes, you can use 99% isopropyl alcohol. Regarding your PC's black screen and a new BIOS update, it might affect display settings—consider testing in safe mode first to see if the issue persists.

You were correct about the bios not being current for the latest release. The most recent patch also addressed a few FPS issues I had before.
