Issues with installing Kali Linux on PLS HELP
I need to set up Kali Linux on a USB drive using Parallels Desktop. When I power on my PC, it freezes and says it can't find the boot device. I also tried copying the ISO to another USB stick using Win32DiskManager, but it kept freezing with the same error. On my Mac, I used dd command and got stuck too. The KDE version of Kali didn't work either. I downloaded the ISO file via a torrent, but it still failed. When I installed Kali on another Macbook using a USB stick, it stuck at 60% and showed an error. I've used various ISO files, different Kali versions (39/40, 2016.2), burned methods (Win32DiskManager, dd mac, dd ubuntu), different drives (250GB HDD, second partition on Mac, multiple USB sticks). I'm really confused and don't know what to do. Please help me – I really don’t understand what I'm doing wrong. Sorry for the bad English, I hope you didn't get sick.
Are you attempting to create a virtual machine? I’m not very experienced with macOS, so I’m unsure about the exact process with Parallels. Typically, for a VM you just pick the ISO file to install the system without needing to burn a USB drive. If you want to install on a device and enable dual booting, it’s quite another.
I attempted to install it in Prallels Desktop before. I also tried dual booting multiple times. When I started from the USB drive with the Linux ISO, I selected install and then picked the USB drive for Kali installation. I also tried the second partition and a completely empty hard drive.
