Hello, I'm completely new to computers and need help with something I don't understand. My laptop works when I type or browse, but when I play games and try to move with the mouse, my inputs get stuck or don't work at all. I'm using an HP Ryzen 3 with 8GB RAM installed in a single stick, and everything else is factory settings. Any suggestions would be really helpful, I have no idea what to do.

review the Device Manager for any devices marked as "unknown" or flagged, particularly in the "Keyboards" and "Mice and other pointing devices" areas. If something seems unusual, try updating their drivers via the Properties menu, removing them if necessary, and then reinstalling them during a restart. Alternatively, you can look up your device on Dell's support site to find the appropriate drivers. I recommend going with the latter option.

also have the same issue with a 7700k but i experienced another problem where my mouse gets stuck occasionally when moving. it seems like it gets blocked until the mouse is still, even when i'm moving to another direction. i tried everything from checking drivers to input lag tips and even used a usb tester, but nothing worked.

all mice on this system or just a particular one?
if a specific one, attempt it on another system and check if it's merely a defective mouse.

it doesn't really matter which mice or which usb port i use to test different mice. i also have a 7700k that's working about 100% of the time, but it keeps having issues with the keyboard. it's really frustrating.

do you have the most recent drivers from the maker installed, especially any new USB drivers? additionally, confirm you have the latest BIOS version. many hardware problems are resolved via these updates. have you also reached out to the manufacturer’s support? also review their forums—if it's a recognized issue, solutions are often shared there.
