Hey everyone, the PC fell over and landed on the floor. The BIOS needed updating when I turned it back on. It was turned off during the update because my brother and dad aren’t very tech-savvy, so when the motherboard started beeping they thought something was wrong and shut it down. I tried pressing the usual keys like F12, F10, Del to open the BIOS menu. I let it run for about 30 minutes and then decided to just turn it off. I’m a bit confused and didn’t know what to do, so I really need some guidance.

Could have caused some issues. Try resetting the CMOS to check. Edit: If it remains active after sitting, it might stay on regardless of continuing startup.

On most HP systems, a backup BIOS file is stored on the storage device as a precaution, which works well when the hardware can actually restore BIOS from flashback, though many older models (before 2020) don’t have this capability.

Do you think this is the right approach? Here are some links you can check:
- Press and hold the Windows key, then release the %2B V keys.
- You might also try: https://support.hp.com/ie-en/product/ome...2331498-16
If it doesn’t work, there may be safer ways to stop the system when updates occur. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and details about your PC.

Hello, Are you seeing the BIOS update screen again? Or is the screen going black? You mentioned trying to restore BIOS with a USB from another PC. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/is...3438449-16 Recover the BIOS using a USB recovery drive
