Issues with High Power Consumption in Task Manager - PC / Tabs / Windows occasionally freezing
Hey there, I've been facing some problems with my PC lately. Every time I launch a new app—like Google Chrome or Discord—it slows down noticeably for a short while before returning to normal. In the Task-Manager, one or both of these programs consistently show extremely high power usage. This issue seems to appear only today, not during my usual undervolting sessions with MSI Afterburner. I've been using it for several months now, but this seems to be a new problem. My system specs are: RTX 3070, 13th gen i5-13400F, and I'm running Pure Power 12 M 650 BN342.
Search Resource Monitor and Process Explorer (Microsoft, free) for additional activity when performance drops. Use each tool individually.

Also review Task Manager > Startup and Task Scheduler.
Possible background processes or utilities consuming resources.
What is the age of that power supply? Consider its usage for gaming or video editing.
It seems like pausing the PC briefly resolved the problem temporarily. I also didn't notice any applications consuming a lot of system resources. I assembled the computer about 1.5 years ago; since I work from home, it runs continuously for at least nine hours each day five times a week. My main interests involve my PC, and there are days when it's on for twelve to fifteen hours. I'll check again later today or tomorrow to see if the issue persists.
