Hello, I’m not sure where to share this. I pre-ordered GTA V and downloaded it on Monday night. The single-player offline mode functions properly, but online it crashes before I can start. I was hoping for improvements over time, but it hasn’t changed. Rock Star hasn’t helped much either. If anyone has tips, please pass them along. My friend’s setup is almost identical to mine and it works well for them. Thanks!

Begin the online session via the single-player game. The launcher might be damaged. Consider checking the game cache again if using Steam.

They've only shared two updates so far that I'm aware of. It's likely to improve, though it might need a week or more. If you're in urgent need, you could attempt to remove the gta5.exe file and then check the cache via Steam to confirm the new version works better. Otherwise, you can simply reinstall the entire game again, though it's time-consuming and uses bandwidth.

From my perspective online things aren’t very reliable right now. I’ve been stuck on loading screens so often that it’s almost funny. I spent about 28 hours on Steam, but my social club says 26 hours—so I must have been on loading screens for at least two hours. It’s not because of my connection; I have a 10mb/s download speed. The game only loaded in about an hour and a half, even when modded for Fallout 3 and Skyrim. My slow HDD is probably the issue, but these times weren’t that bad even with it.
