Recently, my XPS 9570 experienced a significant drop in FPS during gaming. When I played GTA5, the frame rate hovered between 10 and 20 frames per second at the lowest settings in 1080p, compared to the previous 40-50fps on medium settings earlier. The GPU was operating at full capacity, as shown by the NVidia GeForce experience overlay, and temperatures reached around 75 degrees Celsius. I recently cleaned the dust from the fans, which I usually do every few months. Anyone have any ideas about this issue?

The GPU's speed is currently at a maximum of 100%, yet it's functioning very slowly. Poor performance isn't limited to this GPU; it may also occur in other applications.

I don't need much more demanding work. The GPU clock would rise to roughly 1290MHz before dropping again. Could there be other programs you might run to better assess performance?

I saw a photo of the bottom of your laptop near the table. Would you like me to raise it for better airflow and to test gaming performance?

3Dmark, Unigine Superposition, or any benchmarking tool should suffice for games requiring such features.

I just tried out 3DMark, I've linked the results
here
. I once again noticed that the GPUs reported temperature maxes out at 74 °C, and frame rates in the benchmark remained choppy throughout. I did also run the GTAV in-game benchmark, and that had similarly disappointing results.
Here's
a link comparing my results to devices with the same CPU & GPU. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to improve performance.

The main alternative would be swapping the thermal paste or pads. However, it might simply be that the equipment is beginning to fail.

It's sorry to hear that. I saw on a few forums that this might be linked to recent Dell BIOS updates, which could cause the system to throttle heat and lower power usage. I'll check if there are ways to work around this without harming the device. Thanks for your support.
