I appreciate the updated game, though occasional freezes lasting around three seconds can be annoying. It seems like the issue might be random, but it does interrupt your experience. Even with a capped frame rate of 60, the freezes persist. Have you tried checking system resources or updating the game?
It seems there might be some issues with the game. Many people say it's quite unstable, so it could be worth tolerating or holding off until a fix is released.
It might have contained the encryption key if you had it saved beforehand; this has occurred with titles before the main storyline too. The main issues I've noticed in earlier games were remnants from prior entries, such as AI functioning inconsistently, objects dropping unexpectedly, and similar problems.
