Hey there, I understand this discussion is a bit outdated, but I’m excited to share some promising updates. After thorough testing, adding a UPS seemed to significantly improve the power stability in my setup. Once I connected my PC to it and launched CSGO, the stutters disappeared completely.
What caught my attention though was that these issues still appear in GPU-heavy games but less often now. I also enhanced monitoring settings in MSI Afterburner (Power %, Voltage Limit, Power Limit). During a session with Jedi Fallen Order—a demanding GPU game—I noticed those frame drops align precisely with power percentage and voltage limit fluctuations, followed by spikes in the voltage limit.
I’m still trying to make sense of it all, but it seems like power management is making a real difference. The GPU itself isn’t overclocked and runs on a 2080 Ti model.

Still puzzling is that these issues are less frequent now, especially during GPU-heavy games. I also enhanced monitoring settings in MSI Afterburner (Power %, Voltage Limit, Power Limit) and noticed a pattern: frame drops align with low power and voltage readings, while voltage spikes appear during those drops. My GPU isn’t overclocked and runs on a 2080 Ti model. What do you think?
Power and voltage caps indicate the GPU's performance constraints at any moment. Adjusting the "core voltage" slider fully up could improve stability, especially if the default limits are too restrictive. GPU-Z offers a clearer view of real-time bottlenecks under the "PerfCap Reason" section. Consider installing it to analyze GPU clock speeds and timing issues. HWInfo is another useful tool for tracking system metrics. You might find it helpful for further diagnosis.
