I recently had fiber optic installed yesterday, but my internet has been going dark every few minutes now. I’m using a modem named "Windstream WI-FI Modem-T3200" and am running Windows 11. I also looked at my IP lease time—it shows 24 hours. (Found an old discussion about this) Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need anything else.

Explain what it means for the internet to shut down—whether it’s a complete crash requiring you to restart the device or just a temporary loss of connection. Based on this, different actions apply: if the modem freezes or stops working, reset it and reconfigure; if only the link drops, reach out to your ISP for assistance.

It appears the internet often fails after about half an hour. It's unclear if the modem is malfunctioning or just slowing down. I've noticed that turning it on and off seems to resolve the problem briefly. I plan to perform a factory reset to investigate further, though this will be a new experience. The connections seem to drop every thirty minutes—my wired link stops working right away, and soon after, the Wi-Fi also falters. Once reconnected, the lights flash green, then shift to orange/red, and finally back to green. This pattern continues as the Wi-Fi stabilizes.

It looks like the modem might be malfunctioning. Its age could be a factor—older models often lack current security updates. You may want to consider a more recent version.

I’m not sure how to proceed with my provider if a factory reset fails. I think this modem is still relatively recent for them, but I’ll reach out as soon as possible to figure things out. I’ll investigate further even if the reset doesn’t solve the problem.
