Hi, I have this annoying problem in Far Cry 4. I can't climb ropes at all. I tried setting other keys for primary and alternative fire and running the game as admin, compatibility mode. Nothing works. Do you guys have any idea how to make it work?

Do you have a controller or are you using a mouse and keys? If it's a controller, do they support mouse input?

I rely solely on a mouse and keyboard. No external devices are used. For climbing, I use the left mouse button and for descending, I press the right mouse button.

Several users resolved the issue by altering climbing keys and then restoring default control settings. A forum member mentioned contacting Ubisoft support, who advised deleting a file named "GamerProfile.xml" found in Computer > Libraries > My Games > Far Cry 4 > 6fa2c96b-31ab-446b-960d-f14cbb3a9ae8. The fix worked for them. A link to the discussion is provided.

Hey, I had the same experience too. It didn’t work out, but thanks for the support. It seems Ubisoft isn’t doing it right these days... But at least *Splinter Cell* is still a solid choice.

It's disappointing, but I really enjoy Far Cry 4 and have spent 147 hours on single-player. Have you looked into checking the game file integrity on Steam? If you're unsure how, right-click Far Cry 4 in Library > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache. This has helped resolve some odd issues across various titles.

I didn't purchase it via Steam, so that's out of the question... maybe I'll just play Skyrim.

Occasionally I realize Steam isn't available everywhere, right? Uplay should let you simply right-click the game and select verify files.
