I've experimented with various approaches to resolve the internet connectivity issue on my brother's computer. The device is struggling with DNS resolution while mine remains offline, both on the same network. I've applied DNS flush, register, release, and renew commands, which temporarily restored access for a few minutes before it disappeared again. I've also swapped out network cables, toggled the Ethernet port on and off, and performed a soft Windows restore, but none of these steps have provided a lasting solution.

Additional details about your DNS setup:
- Which DNS server is your ISP using?
- Does the public DNS (like 8.8.8.8) function when you enter it?
- Has your device been configured with a static IP address?
- Is it receiving an automatic IP via DHCP?
- Are both devices connected to the same local network?
- Is one device on a LAN and the other on Wi-Fi?

Change the device to a fixed IP without knowing its current DHCP assignment. Both of you are connected via a wired LAN and use a router. Your current IP is Charter Spectrum.

Begin by launching a command prompt on each machine through Start, Run, type CMD and press Enter. In the prompt, enter ipconfig /all and capture the output. This will reveal details such as IP addresses, subnet, DNS, WINS, and gateway information. You can remove the hostname if needed. These results reflect your network configuration (specific to your home setup).
