I was testing performance metrics over the last few days and observed some unusual CPU/AIO behavior. My R9 3900X paired with a Lian Li Galahad 240 AIO is running stock at 1.5V. In AIDA Extreme, temperatures stay stable for short periods (2-3 minutes) but then jump to 92-95°C, causing me to stop the process. I'm having trouble lowering the voltage because the BIOS insists on a fixed value of 1.1 and doesn't respond to changes. The AIO runs with reduced pump speed, and idle temps sit between 40-50°C. I’m unsure how to proceed or what settings to adjust. Any guidance would be really helpful.

Could you clarify if everything is set up correctly? It seems the AIO was placed on the preinstalled brackets, but there might still be an issue with coverage.

Excessive pressure on one side before the other, neglecting to remove the protective tape over the thermal paste, can lead to issues. Aida Extreme is known for its intensity. The CPU remains stable under regular use, right?

I notice and agree. Temperatures appear stable during typical gameplay.

The cooler isn't suited for your CPU under heavy use. Your 5900X still draws 1.5V, but adjusting it to 1.5 in BIOS won’t solve the issue.

The cooling system generally helps maintain stable temperatures, which can prevent fluctuations in CPU voltage.

Usually AIOs perform quite well, especially when it's warm.

What counts as hot depends on your setup and usage. With your CPU at 41-55°C, it's likely within normal range, but keep an eye on it if you notice any changes or performance drops.

It's a bit cozier than expected, around 5900X. The engine runs between 27 and 30 minutes based on whether the furnace is active.
