You used a jumper or button on the board to reset the CMOS. If BIOS-based OC didn’t help, removing the battery for a few minutes should clear it.
Check the BIOS settings for the MSI BIOS menu and look for the power management or audio settings to disable them.
I powered off my PC, activated XMP, then left the BIOS settings behind. That's all.
Perhaps at the same cost you could have obtained a 280 or 360mm AIO similar to the liquid freezer, but honestly it will suffice. Not too much concern unless you reach 90°C then things start to worry.
In the OC section panel for your motherboard BIOS, under the advanced settings (F7 key on the simpler main menu), many MSI boards feature a Power Limit option with "Stock Cooler 125w, Highend Air 277watts and Watercooled 4096w (Up to Unlimited)". Setting it to 125w will apply the default profile to lower temperatures and clocks. Choosing more than 125w (per this specific list) forces a 4.8Ghz performance.
