I assembled this PC in November. After needing to manually switch to PCIE Gen 4 in BIOs, everything seemed okay for a while. Then suddenly, without warning, from a steady 144 fps on Apex it dropped to 30 fps and the resolution became poor—144p instead of 1440p. I took it to the shop to replace the GPU, but the problem returned after a few weeks. My PC would crash when moving the mouse and experience random freezes.

Additionally, I observed inconsistent latency in games. The ping fluctuates, going up and down, and it changes whether I'm on Ethernet or different Wi-Fi networks.

I've taken my PC to several shops, but none provided a solution. Most attributed it to the GPU, though I've already returned the GPU twice via RMA. The most puzzling aspect is that the fps drops are unpredictable. For example, in RDR2 I usually see 100 fps, but sometimes it drops to 50 or 40 fps, then back to 100. Other games like CS2 seem unaffected. Or perhaps Furmark works fine one day and not the next, even if it was stable before. I mentioned this issue a month ago, and they suggested it might be an SSD problem. When they used their SSD, everything seemed normal, so they recommended switching to Windows 10. After two or three weeks without issues, my RDR2 now runs at 30 fps again. That’s impossible. I’m certain the GPU isn’t the cause of the RMA returns, and it worked well in other systems too. The RAM and SSD are being used, but I ran memtest without any problems. I also tried a stress test, which revealed crashes linked to CPU and RAM settings...

Hey there, I should note that I missed mentioning something important. I own a custom Formd T1 v2 SFF Case with an RTX 4070, Ryzen 5 7600, A620I Gigabyte, two 16GB 6400MHz Gskills Ripjaw S5, and an AXP90-X47 FC. All components except RAM and the SSD were new purchases; the SSD is a PK31 HYNIX GOLD.

Are you employing the Lan optimizer? I advise against it. What outcomes occur if you keep the pcie x16 version enabled automatically in BIOS? Did you install the latest BIOS, Lan, chipset, and related drivers during the PC setup? Which stress test led to the crash? Have you attempted testing with a single RAM stick at a time to eliminate that possibility?
