Hello everyone! This seems to be my first post in a while, but I'm running out of ideas. After switching to Windows 11 from an updated Windows 10 version, I'm experiencing problems with my Bluetooth headphones and Xbox controller. Every 30 seconds to a minute, there are brief sound interruptions lasting about 100 milliseconds to one second. It varies—sometimes it lasts five minutes without any issues, other times the interruptions become so intense that the audio becomes unrecognizable and the controller disconnects.

My setup includes:
- Bluetooth adapters: ASUS BT500 dongle, EDUP Bluetooth 5.3 USB antenna
- Headphones: Sony WH 1000 XM4, BOSE qc 35 II
- Controllers: Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4 DS4
- Operating system: Windows 11 Pro 22H2 (just installed)

I've tried various adapters, headphones, and controllers without resolving the issue. I also tested using an older Bluetooth speaker, but it didn't reproduce the problem. I haven't used Ubuntu or Windows 10 before, so I'm unsure what else to try. I really appreciate your help and won't waste anyone's time with such a minor issue. Thank you!

You're not sure about Xbox controllers but it looks like you're using the same Bluetooth channel for both the headset and controller. The system automatically selects the channel, which might affect performance. You can verify your power profile is set to maximum speed since lower settings may limit Bluetooth bandwidth. Try a USB Bluetooth dongle to compare behavior. Bluetooth adapters are inexpensive. Good luck!

Hey there! Glad you got your response so quickly. I'm using the Ryzen High Performance plan, which doesn't have any Bluetooth-related settings. My PC also lacks built-in Bluetooth, so I've tested with two USB adapters, an Asus dongle, and an EDUP external antenna—all worked similarly. I even switched to a different controller via a dedicated dongle, and everything functioned perfectly. I was hoping to connect both headphones and the controller with just one adapter.

I recently switched to a wired keyboard instead of the wireless one, but the problems persist. Currently, only the headphones connected via Bluetooth are working, and the audio stream stops when using Windows 11. All other settings remain unchanged.

I resolved it! The issue wasn't the Windows update—it was inserting the Bluetooth adapter into a USB port managed by the same controller as a USB switch, along with other devices and a hub. Once I switched to a different port controlled by a simpler setup, the problems vanished. Gah!
