Today I decided to install Android on my spare laptop, and I managed to do it! But then I realized it keeps freezing in recovery mode with the gearlock enabled. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks to all the helpful people!

For Android on an x86 platform, I recommend using Android x86.
