Hello! Your 970 works fine, but when you enable VSync it keeps dropping to lower frame rates. Could be related to your storage drive—your new SSD might affect performance.

Setting a fixed frame rate is challenging, and when Vsync falls under 60 it attempts to reduce itself further to a more stable rate. It's usually safer to disable it completely.

I didn't expect it to be the drive mate; I'm still using a solid hard drive as the primary storage, and when I turn on VSYNC it runs smoothly at around 60 frames per second on my GTX 780, though there are some minor drops.

It's not quite smooth... I've been looking for a 144Hz monitor, but they're really pricey!

When it falls below 60 frames, it automatically reduces to 30. Disable VSync in the game settings, then use the NVIDIA Control Panel to enable adaptive VSync. This will switch VSync off when it drops under 60 and back on when it recovers.

adjusts the frame rate limit to 60 FPS. It doesn't force synchronization like Vsync does; it simply caps at that number. Works smoothly for me since it stops above 60 without extreme fluctuations. Turn it on in the console and see how it performs. It also helps reduce overall GPU usage.

My device runs at 980Hz and I never turn off Vsync. If you're like me, I'd follow the same rule.

I really enjoy the fluidity of the gameplay... my wish for a 144hz display will remain fulfilled.
