I just got a Ryzen 7 5700X for my B350M and after installing the BIOS, my M.2 drive (Samsung 980Pro 1TB) isn’t being detected. I downloaded the latest BIOS from MSI but still can’t find it. I changed settings, cleared CMOS, tried without data drives (got two SSDs), but nothing helps. Everything works fine with the old CPU (Ryzen 5 1600). Are some lanes disabled with the new CPU? Is there a way to fix this?

It could be a single M.2 slot designed for an NVMe SSD. If you know the complete model name, you can find more details. They also offer PCI-based NVMe adapters for this type of slot.

Are you certain your BIOS was updated to the newest version? Some older systems won’t accept a BIOS update, causing the previous CPU to malfunction.

I'm not very familiar with tech stuff to be honest ^^ The motherboard is: B350M Mortar Arctic (MS-7a37) as per the manual on the MSI website. It features AMD® B350 Chipset with 4 x SATA 6Gb/s ports, one M.2 slot (Key M) that supports PCIe 3.0 x4 or PCIe 3.0 x2 depending on the processor, and SATA 6Gb/s support for storage devices. It can handle RAID configurations like 0, 1, and 10. The old CPU that works with the M.2 drive is a Ryzen 5 1600, while the new one I'm trying is a Ryzen 7 5700X TME M2, connected via a Samsung 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe 980. Both Windows and BIOS list it as A.M6 or MSI's "7A37vAM6 (beta version)". It was the version they marked as the newest beta for compatibility with the latest CPU models.

Yes, the SSD isn't displayed in the BIOS during the installation of the new CPU.

Yes, bios includes: Sata 1/2 – missing sata 3/4 – my other two hdd drives M2_1 – absent And now I’m preparing a replay on the old cpu using the m2 drive as the os drive, confident both the slot and the drive are functioning, though not with the new cpu.

Have you experimented with connecting the additional drives via SATA 1/2 and pairing them with the latest CPU?

I also attempted the new CPU without any SATA drives, but it didn't work.

Sure, I can attempt to run the CPU on another machine.
