Issues with Asus Rampage V Edition 10
Hey, I see you're trying to upgrade your X99 Rampage V Edition 10 setup. You have an I7 5820K, a 2*16GB dual-channel kit with Corsair Vengeance Red, and you're using a 24GB stick. The issue is that the BIOS doesn't show the full 32GB memory, even though it's registered. After updating BIOS versions, changing CMOS, and moving sticks, you still can't see the extra 16GB. When you remove the CPU and install a new one, it works fine on 24GB but not on 32GB. How can I help fix this?
In the Mobo Book, install a single RAM stick in D1 slot. Ensure it boots properly and activate the LED PCIe 4 port.
My Rampage V has faced several problems with faulty contacts in the RAM slots. Whenever I disassemble it, it takes about half an hour to clean and reposition the modules before attempting again until it even starts, and the Q-code consistently lands in a meaningless "Reserved" state. Eventually it functions properly, and I make sure not to handle the RAM at all during use, avoiding any issues. My unit is the older model, which lacks the DRAM_SM_SW DIPs you have, so I haven’t checked their purpose on yours.
I wonder if I should set up my sticks, and all four seem to function properly except when placed in the gray slots—then the motherboard won’t power on. Sometimes it boots but displays only 16GB instead of the full 32GB RAM. In the BIOS settings, the memory shows two slots but not the actual capacity of both sticks. The issue seems to be with the latest beta version; I’ve tried other BIOS versions and older ones, but they also fail to boot.
