Is this board equipped with Wi-Fi? The Amazon listing claims it supports WIFI 6, but I’m doubtful. My friend’s son recently assembled his first PC and asked for my help confirming everything was correct. He mentioned purchasing the "Asus ROG Strix B550A Gaming Wifi 6," which is fine. Since he plans to stream, I didn’t focus on the connection issue. After finishing the build, he finished proudly but reported no Wi-Fi signal. He reached out for help, but no Wi-Fi card or antenna was included in the package. We’ve checked all manuals and specs—nothing mentions Wi-Fi functionality. I’m worried this might be a scam, especially since he’s only 17 and could feel frustrated. If he needs to return it, it would require a long drive to a nearby UPS location, which isn’t convenient.

Using my B550-F they found two models, one with WiFi and another without. Based on the photo and rear I/O arrangement, the B550-A doesn’t include WiFi by default. However, you can still install a PCIe Wi-Fi card or USB dongle.

Noted. The image doesn't show any WIFI antenna connectors on the back of the motherboard, meaning it wouldn't support Wi-Fi.

Yep- the F Wifi is the same price, and he can buy a PCIe card (I wouldn't recommend a dongle for multiple reasons) but one of those requires a 3-hour drive, and one requires him to pay more money out of pocket- this kid is 17 and really saved for this, he only managed this build by using Prime Day deals, ignoring RGB nonsense, going with the box cooler, using the single builtin case fan, and using an old recycled OEM case (great job kid). Idk if he even has the extra money, and even if he really does, it sucks that he would have to spend it considering this was clearly advertised as "Wifi". This post is a Hail Mary hoping I am missing something. If not, I am probably going to take this to the sponsorship thread.

I didn't notice anything, but I'm sure I missed something because it was clearly listed as having Wi-Fi by Asus in their Amazon shop.

I would reach out to ASUS to confirm whether they can provide the appropriate motherboard, as it appears they did not deliver the right one. It is noted that the device is labeled as WIFI, but the incorrect product was received.

After two attempts, the support team confirmed Asus doesn’t offer Wi-Fi. They mentioned they couldn’t help directly but would forward the issue to the E-store team. The call won’t be available on weekends, and they promised to reach out within two business days. It’s disappointing that Asus made such a misleading claim; this situation could hurt a 17-year-old who’s just starting his first computer. A poor impression indeed.

It shouldn't matter whether it's a teenager or an older tech enthusiast—they both got confused about the Wi-Fi setup. The board was labeled as WIFI, but it doesn't actually include one. ASUS customer support has been inconsistent lately. Fingers crossed everything works out.

Absolutely correct, it's always problematic. This is my first time setting up a PC.

He purchased it from Amazon. If applicable, a fast refund and return should follow. Amazon assistance typically acts promptly.
