Issues with AMD 9950X3D startup problems
Hi All,
My PC was functioning perfectly before using a 9800X3D. Recently I bought a 9950X3D but now encountering a C5 Boot code error.
PC Specifications:
Gigabyte Aorus Master - BIOS F4, tried BIOS F5b with the same problem
CPU: 9950X3D
G Skill Z5 RAM 2 x 32GB are listed on the QVL - F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5RK
The system boots fine with one stick in A2, but fails with one in B2, and not at all with A2 and B2 populated. I've reseated the RAM several times, as well as the CPU, and there are no bent pins.
Anyone else experiencing this issue or have a solution? Thanks for your help.
Gigabyte offers several boards under the Aorus Master for AM5 sockets. Which one do you own? Have you reset the CMOS after confirming your BIOS was successfully updated to F5b? It’s recommended to unplug the power source and display, then remove the CMOS battery from the board. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any remaining power. Reinsert the battery and wait 30 minutes before reseating.
Your PC boots with one stick of RAM in A2, but not with B2. It also fails to boot when both A2 and B2 are populated. This suggests a possible issue with your processor’s IMC (Integrated Memory Controller). Have you considered transferring your 9950X3D to another functional motherboard using the appropriate BIOS version?
How is your processor being cooled?
I apologize, it's the X870E Master. The CMOS was cleared according to the previous instructions. Unfortunately, it can't be transferred to another motherboard. The cooling solution is the Lian Li 360 cooler.
